Hi folks,
I am a retired engineer. I attended a vocational technical high school and majored in interior house wiring. I went to college days and received an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering. I worked days as an electonics technician for 7 years while attending college nights to receive my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I worked as a software engineer for 25 years and as a test engineer for 2 years.
I have been happily married for over 25 years.
I am interested in national politics, the US revolutionary war, the US Constitution Convention in 1787 - 1789, the US civil war, the war on terror, electronics, science fiction, thrillers, fantasy, and writing.
I started writing short stories when I was 11 years old. I have always loved writing. I publish short stories, articles and technical tutorials on Associated Content. The topics of the technical tutorials include practical electricity, electrical theory and electronics. I have also published tutorials on algebra and trigonometry.

He approached it and bent over, looking at it. It was a round gel. Perhaps it was some new device. He picked up a leaf and touched it with the leaf. It flexed. Then he threw the leaf on the ground and reached for it with his hand. He stopped when his hand was a few inches from the gel. The gel was growing. It appeared to be emerging from the soil. He tried to back up, but his foot was stuck. He looked down at his foot and realized it was buried in gel. The gel had quickly spread covering both feet. It was rising.

Mom came out, slammed the door behind her and leaned against it. "Jerry, get some wood, nails and hammer from the garage." Her face was pale. Her hands were trembling.
"What happened?" asked Jerry.
"No time for questions. Go!"
